How do you record these clips to your computer?
There are a number of ways to watch and record television on your computer.
Most people choose to use a TV Tuner Card which can be either installed permanently into your desktop computer, or connected via USB.
Another option is to use a DVD Recorder, which also allow you to record digital channels by connecting your set-top-box. Simply record your clips to DVD and transfer them from the disc to your computer.
What software do you use?
We use WinTV Nova-T PCI and WinTV Express to capture the images and videos displayed on the site.
For the images, we use Adobe Fireworks to scale them down to fit on pages and for videos, we import them into VirtualDubMod to cut clips down, then use Windows Movie Maker to make compress clips so they load up in a reasonable time online.
To make this website we used Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Dreamweaver, along with Apache as a local web server for testing.
How do I play downloaded video clips?
You will need to have VLC Media Player to watch the downloaded FLV files.
